Yesterday evening at Euroclub, Belarus hosted the first of the 2009 delegation parties. Hosts of the party were Dima Koldun, who himself performed in the contest for Belarus in 2007, and Anastasia Tihanovich.

Many delegations, artists, fans and assembled press attended the Belarussian party. The hospitality was very generous, partygoers were treated to free drinks all night, and of course Petr Elfimov ice creams and curd cakes. Special carrier bags had been prepared and included boxes of chocolates, CD's and in some instances Petr Elfimov vodka!. A special VIP area was also created where interviews could be made with the artists.

For the first 30 minutes, the DJ played many hits from past Eurovision Song Contests and then Koldun and Anastasia took to the stage where they compered the entertainment for the evening. Not only did many of the 2009 participants perform their entries and other songs from their reportoire, a full programme of Belarusian and Russian artists provided entertainment. Amongst the performers were Petr Elfimov, Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 Belarus winner

Alexey Zhigalkovich, Koldun himself, Natalia Podolskaya and Ruslan Alehno. From the 2009 participants some of the artists who sang on stage were Sakis Rouvas of Greece, Nelly Ciobanu of Moldova, Svetlana Loboda of Ukraine and Chiara from Malta.

The evening was rounded off by the cutting of a huge wedding sized cake, but this was a cake with a difference, it was made totally of ice cream!. All in all a splendid evenings entertainment, with Belarusian hospitality which was both warm and generous.
