Ambassador of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan recalled to Minsk for consultations

Almaty. May 14. Kazakhstan Today - The Ambassador of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan, Victor Denisenko, has been recalled to Minsk for consultations. The employees of the diplomatic mission have been recalled to be available in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Andrey Savinyh, informed, the agency reports citing the Belarus cable agency BELTA.

He informed that these measures are compulsory, but temporary. "We have taken this step because of threat to the lives and health of our employees," the representative of the foreign policy department underlined.

As soon as the situation is normalized, the Belarus diplomats will return to perform their duties in the host country. A. Savinyh said that the decision to recall the Ambassador is not connected with any other factors, except for safety reasons.

More than 80 relatives of victims of April 7 events organized protests in the centre of Bishkek on Thursday at the building of the Belarus Embassy demanding extradition of the ex-president Kurmanbek Bakiev.
