Talks continue on Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have not yet managed to agree on all points required for the introduction of the new Customs Code on July 1 st, said Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, speaking Friday in St. Petersburg.

"We have not reached an agreement on all questions as there are important issues for the economies of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. We agreed to continue the ratification process of the Customs Code, but sensitive issues remain: the automobile industry, the aircraft industry, goods which citizens use for personal consumption and the customs export duties" ITAR-TASS quotes Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as saying.

Consultations will continue at the expert level for two weeks. Then the prime ministers will meet again for talks.
