State Office of Public Prosecutor of Kyrgyzstan addressed Belarus to extradite Bakiev

Almaty. May 7. Kazakhstan Today - The State Office of Public Prosecutor of Kyrgyzstan, has addressed, according to the Kishinev Convention on legal assistance and legal relations on civil, family and criminal matters, the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Belarus with an official inquiry about extradition of Kurmanbek Bakiev to Bishkek. Vice premier of the judicial system of the provisional government, Azimbek Beknazarov, informed, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

Ex-president K. Bakiev has been deprived of the inviolability status, by the provisional government's decree. "He has been accused of excess of his powers, which have entailed serious consequences, and complicity to murder two or more people," A. Beknazarov said. The court sentenced Bakiev, in absentia, to imprisonment.

At the moment, K. Bakiev is in Minsk, where the head of Belarus, A. Lukashenko, promised him political asylum.
