Russian Parliament Speaker Criticizes EU For Ostracizing Belarus

(RTTNews) - The Speaker of Russia's upper house of parliament on Wednesday criticized the EU for ostracizing Belarus. Earlier the EU had banned the entry of 31 Belarusian officials into EU, including President Alexander Lukashenko. The EU also froze the accounts of Lukashenko. The action by the EU followed declaration by international observers and opposition leaders of the presidential elections as fraudulent. Speaker Sergei Mironov told the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly that it is unacceptable that a European country is shoddily treated, Russian news organization RIA Novosti reported.
