Russia ponders credit extension to Belarus - Fradkov

MOSCOW, June 29 (Itar-Tass) - Russia considers a possibility to extend a credit to Belarus to buy Russia's fuels, Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov told journalists on Friday.

"We've confirmed our interest in maintaining cooperation with Belarus in fuel exports on the market conditions," he said.

"We take balanced decisions in advance to adjust and synchronize them with Belarus' readiness to perceive these decisions. In this context - and we discussed it today - we are pondering the extension of a credit to Belarus," he said.

"Gazprom conducts necessary talks on the gas export terms. This requires time and we understand this," Fradkov said.

The prime minister believes that economic cooperation "is the determinant factor in the establishment of relations."

"Therefore a decision to be taken in relation to fuel exports will have big influence on the formation of our current and future relations," he said.
