Moscow to host session of Council of Ministers of Belarus-Russia Union State June 27

A session of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State will be held in Moscow on June 27. The session will be chaired by Russian Premier Vladimir Putin. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Head of the Government Sergei Sidorsky.

The agenda of the forthcoming session includes 20 issues related to the basic areas of the Belarusian-Russian integration, BelTA learnt from the Permanent Committee of the Belarus-Russia Union State.

The Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State will consider the report concerning the execution of Belarus-Russia Union’s budget for 2007. It will also discuss the guidelines of Belarus-Russia Union’s budget for 2009. In 2009, the budget of the Belarus-Russia Union State is expected to exceed RUB5 billion (in 2008 – Union’s budget made up RUB4 billion).

The Government of the Belarus-Russia Union State will be informed about the implementation of the Concept of Social Development of the Belarus-Russia Union State for the period till 2010. Moreover, the session will consider the implementation of the agreement on cooperation in social services.

The Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State intends to adopt the resolution regarding the formation and functioning of the integrated transport system, the development of the boundary customs infrastructure, the issues related to the transport-customs area. These decisions will allow the two countries to simplify all transport procedures. Belarus is also in favour of removing transport control and putting it to the external border of the Union State.

The session will also discuss the pilot projects which are carried out in line with the programme on minimizing of Chernobyl accident’s consequences within the framework of the Belarus-Russia Union State in 2006-2010.

The Council of ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State will also consider the implementation of the programme aimed at developing and organization of production of the special technological equipment to produce very-large-scale integral circuits, new polymeric and composite materials, chemical fibers and threads.

The session of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State will consider some issues regarding the cultural cooperation between the two countries.
