Iran, Belarus discuss issues of mutual interest

Outgoing Belarusian Ambassador to Iran Leonid Rachkov at the end of his mission held talks with Commerce Minister Masoud Mirkazemi on issues of mutual interest here on Saturday.

In the meeting, Mirkazemi voiced the Islamic Republic's willingness to improve bilateral ties.

Referring to the growing trend of relations between Tehran and Minsk, he noted that the two countries have made great progress in the fields of trade, technical and engineering services.

He also expressed hope that the bilateral ties could increase in near future.

Rachkov, on his part, referred to his 10-year tenure in Tehran, saying, "The Belarusian leaders underline importance of maintaining bilateral ties with Iran and Ukraine's relations with Iran are a long term and strategic one."

The Belarusian ambassador also expressed hope that the two countries' bilateral trade level could increase.
