MINSK. June 2 (Interfax) - The main criterion of the future location of the first Belarusian nuclear power plant (NPP) is safety, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Apatsky told a press conference in Minsk on Monday.
"Full environmental safety determines the choice of the NPP site. We are choosing the best location not as much economically as environmentally," he said.
"Not only Belarusian but also international experts, among them representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ukraine and Russia will assess prospective construction sites," the official said.
