Belarusian authorities falsely lay blame on the Nazis for the Katyn massacre, writes RZECZPOSPOLITA.

The Belarusian government is lying about the Katyn massacre, informs RZECZPOSPOLITA. A bulletin published by the Belarusian Defence Ministry writes that thousands of Polish military officers, war prisoners of 1939, were killed by the Nazis, not by the Soviet security service NKVD. It's an old Soviet lie. After the collapse of communism Russia admitted that the crime had been committed by the NKVD in 1940, not the Nazis in 1941. The position of the Belarusian regime is appalling and the Polish government should react, claim various organisations and experts in Poland. 'Belarus is generally a state of retired officers of the Soviet army, police and secret services. They are simply defending honor of their real homeland - the Soviet Union,' says Professor Andrzej Nowak, a Polish historian quoted by the newspaper.
