The Newsprint Factory is established in Belarus

Moscow. Jun 12, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. A Newsprint Factory was commissioned in the city of Shklov, Belarus. The ceremony was attended by President Alexander Lukashenko, Russian Forestry Review reported. The head of the country announced that Belarus will refuse the import of 40 thousand tons of newsprint, on which the state used to spend millions of dollars. As the president said, "if everything goes well, we will consider the construction of the second stage of the enterprise, that is the second papermaking machine." He also pointed out that "this is a super factory, a closed-cycle one, a non-waste production."

Alexander Lukashenko also said that "The plant may still have some operational errors, but the country must produce its own paper. The plant must work at full capacity!"

The Newsprint Factory may produce standard newsprint and light coated paper thanks to its up-to-date equipment. The plant worked out a business plan for 2008 providing for reaching 60% of the rated capacity this year. It is expected to reach the full capacity (40 thousand tons per year) in 2010. The plant enjoys the most advanced German purification facilities
