Belarusian kids summer in Poland

Over 2,000 Belarusian children will spend their holidays in Poland as part of the project entitled 'Summer with Poland.'

It gives young people an opportunity to become acquainted with the country of their ancestors and learn the Polish language.

Launched jointly by the Polish Community Association and the Union of Poles in Belarus, the project is implemented with the support of the Senate and local governing bodies from across the country.

Head of the Union of Poles in Belarus, Andzelika Borys, has stressed that such actions are a great support for compatriots living across the eastern border.

"This project serves to support Polish education and to help teachers. It is tangible help and a veritable investment in the young generation. Such trips help improve their language skills, and become acquainted with their peers. This also serves recreational purposes. Judging by previous years, the trips spark genuine interest in the country's culture," stated Borys.
