Ukraine and Belarus ink a series of bilateral documents

Ukraine and Belarus have signed a series of bilateral documents directed to deepening cooperation. The signing ceremony took place in the course of a meeting of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky, who is staying on official visit in Kyiv.

So, the heads of governments of the two countries signed Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Belarus on free-visa trips.

Moreover, Ukraine and Belarus inked Joint Agreement on transfer of persons sentenced for deprivation of freedom to continue serving the sentence; Framework Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in research and peaceful use of space; Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economics of Ukraine and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus to apply special anti-dumping and compensation measures in the area of mutual trade; Intergovernmental Agreement on conditions of supply of compressed-air, rubber, car tyres to Ukraine.

As the Prime Minister of Ukraine put it, the signed documents eliminate restrictions and define new parameters for the citizens of Ukraine and Belarus to stay on the territories of the two states. According to her, the parties also achieved understandings on withdrawal of all limits in economic area. The Head of Ukraine's Government noted new prospects of cooperation in space area have been open: "We have mutually beneficial projects and cooperation lines which can create principally new solutions for the world, including ground probing".

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, from now on Ukraine launches supplies of electrical energy to Belarus. She added the countries also bear all the possibilities to collaborate in oil-refining domain: "Ukraine can be a transport country capable of shipment of necessary amounts of oil to Belarus".

The Premier of Ukraine informed among the issues considered was the decision to finalize as soon as possible all the procedures related to demarcation and delimitation of borders.
