Belarus good partner for Germany - Lukashenko

MINSK. June 16 (Interfax) - Belarus is ready to advance bilateral relations with Germany in various spheres, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"We are very grateful that after a decade the Belarusian-German council for economic cooperation has resumed its work. That is very beneficial for us. We trade a lot with Germany. We are interested in the new technologies developed in your country," Lukashenko said at a meeting with State Secretary of the German Ministry of Economics and Technology Bernd Pfaffenbach on Tuesday.

"With a stable and predictable economy we can be a good partner for your country," Lukashenko said.

Belarus will welcome the expansion of the presence of German business, he also said. "We will guarantee your investments and consider all your proposals. I am sure that you will find a good partner in Belarus," the president said.

In response, Pfaffenbach said, "Even in harder times we realized our role as a bridge between Belarus and the EU. We feel great progress in our relations."

"If normal framework conditions are created, we will be able to move to concrete projects," he said.
