Rainy weather in Belarus has not caused the worsening of the crops condition yet, declared the department of agrometeorological forecasts of the Republican hydrometeorological centre.
At the beginning of the month, the rains had a positive impact and replenished moisture reserves in the soil. But to date, the soil receives surpluses of moisture. The soil in the eastern regions of the country became overwetted, noticed specialists of the hydrometeorological centre. Such situation affected many plants.
Rains in Belarus were accompanied by strong winds. In several places of Mogilev and Gomel oblasts hail beat leaves and stalks of grains.
The expected shortage of hot temperatures will restrain development of heat-loving crops. The hydrometeorological centre forecasts the unstable weather with rains during the nearest future.
