MINSK, Belarus - Israel's foreign minister is promising to strengthen ties with Belarus but he's cautioning the ex-Soviet nation against developing relations with Iran.
Avigdor Lieberman says Iran is a threat to stability in the entire Middle East.
He said after Thursday's talks with Belarusian officials that Israel expects them to take its concerns into account.
Belarus' authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko has developed close ties with Iran, calling the Islamic republic a "key partner."
He and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have exchanged visits and warm words of solidarity.
Russia has been Belarus' main sponsor, but Lukashenko recently has sought to improve Belarus' ties with the West.
