Iran-Belarus ties no threat against others: Iranian ambassador

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Expansion of ties between Iran and Belarus poses no threats against other countries, said Iran's ambassador to Minsk, Abdullah Hosseini.

Belarus is an independent country and has the right to cooperate with different countries but the remarks by Israeli foreign minister and ambassador to Minsk over Iran are incorrect and irrelevant, he asserted.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman in his visit to Minsk last week cautioned Belarus against developing relations with Iran claiming that Iran is a threat to stability of the Middle East.

"Iran is a prime mover of peace and security in the world and we recommend Israeli leaders to resolve their own problem before accusing Iran and spreading wrong information about it across the world," said Hosseini.

"The most important issue is that they must find a peaceful resolution for their problem instead of resorting to war as a solution, that is the worst choice."

Iran is seeking a world free of nuclear weapons and war so that people live next to each other in peace, he added.

Iranians and Belarusians are two great nations, he said and expressed optimism regarding expansion of bilateral ties.
