Belarus - President Alexander Lukashenko speaks by telephone with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan

President Alexander Lukashenko spoke today by telephone with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayev was interested in the situation in Belarus in the context of the gas dispute with Gazprom. Alexander Lukashenko gave his colleague detailed information about the position of the Belarusian side. Special attention during the conversation was paid to Gazprom's outstanding debt to the Republic of Belarus, which far exceeds the amount of Belarus' debt to Gazprom.

Also, the presidents discussed the situation in Kyrgyzstan, particularly in the south of the country. According to the President of Kazakhstan, what was a blooming city of Osh once lies in ruins now, and on the whole, the situation in the country is far from stable.

Nursultan Nazarbayev invited Alexander Lukashenko to visit Kazakhstan on 4-5 July to participate in the events marking President Nazarbayev's birthday anniversary.
