Medvedev, Lukashenko to meet soon - Kremlin

MOSCOW, June 8 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will soon meet with Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, a high-ranking representative of the Kremlin said on Tuesday.

"We do not rule out the soonest meeting of the Russian and Belarusian presidents," he said.

"Moscow has always adhered to the regular, direct and frank dialog on all spheres of Russia-Belarus cooperation," he said.

Medvedev and Lukashenko had a brief telephone conversation on Monday to discuss preparations for a working meeting.

They confirmed the readiness to discuss the formation of the Customs Union, bearing in mind the decisions Russia and Kazakhstan made in St. Petersburg on May 21, the Kremlin said.
