Belarus to sign Gazprom gas transit contract supplement on July 1

MINSK, June 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Belarus is highly likely to sign on July 1 a supplement to the Gazprom contract on Russian gas transit, Belarus' First Deputy Prime Minster Vladimir Semashko told journalists on Wednesday.

According to Semashko, the document has already been agreed upon. "We are sure to sign the supplement to the contract tomorrow," he said and pointed to the fact that the Russian gas utility Gazprom had acknowledged its debt to Belarus for gas transit via its territory. The sides agreed that the transit fee will be 1.88 U.S. dollars for pumping 1,000 cubic meters of gas to the distance of 100 kilometers, he added.
