The senate slams Belarus' anti-Polish policy

The Polish senate has protested against the broadening of the scope of an anti-Polish policy pursued by the Belarusian authorities and violations of the rights of the Polish minority there. In a resolution on developments in Belarus the senate called on the Polish president and the government to take effective steps to ensure that the rights of Poles in Belarus are observed. The senators were alarmed by the crackdown on the Union of Poles in Belarus and pointed out that its leaders were democratically elected last March.
