Belarus, Gazprom to ink 2006 gas supply deal in September
MINSK, Belarus (AFX) - The Belarussian government is planning to sign a 2006 gas supply contract with Russian gas company Gazprom in September, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said, cited by official information sources, BelaPAN news agency reported.
Semashko, who met Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller a week ago, said the two sides no longer have any differences over the matter, and that the contract will be signed as soon as technical work is completed.
Semashko and Miller said the four booster stations on the Belarussian section of the Yamal-Europe pipeline will be completed this year. The 575-kilometre Belarussian section of the pipeline is partially in operation, with only one booster station activated so far, BelaPAN reported.
