Belarus head approves draft consular convention with Uzbekistan

President of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree on approval of a draft consular convention between Belarus and Uzbekistan on 19 July.

The convention will serve as basis for negotiations between two countries. Foreign Minister of Belarus Syarhey Martynaw has been authorised to hold talks on the draft convention.

Currenlty, Belarus has signed bilateral consular conventions with Poland, China, Romania, Russia, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

The signature of the consular convention between Belarus and Uzbekistan will facilitate consular functions for the sake of the development and strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries and protection of rights and interests of the two countries' citizens and legal entities.
