Poland Expels Belarusian Diplomat

25 July 2005 -- Poland says it is expelling a Belarusian diplomat following Minsk's recent expulsion of a Polish consular official. A Foreign Ministry statement said today the decision is the result of the "entirely unjustified" removal of the Polish head of the consular office in Minsk, Andrzej Buczak. However it did not name the Belarusian diplomat who is being told to leave. Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka has accused Poland of working against him ahead of next year's presidential elections. (AP/Reuters)
