Chavez in Belarus, Signing

Minsk, Jul 24 (Prensa Latina) Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will receive his Venezuelan homologue Hugo Chavez on official visit to that country to analyze perspectives for bilateral cooperation and world events, conformed diplomatic sources on Monday.

The meeting has sparked great expectation as it is the first visit of a Latin American dignitary to that Central European nation in 15 years.

They are analyzing possible amplification of political ties between both states regarding the UN and Movement of Non Aligned Countries, as well as signing various economic agreements.

The Belarusian part is interested in Venezuelan energy, while Caracas will explore possibilities for the exchange of professionals, declared Prime Minister Serguei Sidorski.

Upon arrival in that nation on Sunday, President Chavez said he intends to stamp a pact of unity with Belarus, a country he praised for building a social model committed to defense of humankind.
