The court proceedings on preparation of acts of terror begin in Belarus

In Minsk a court proceedings against the members of the organization "Partnership" accused under the version of the KGB of preparation of acts of terror during the presidential elections in Belarus have begun, news agency RIAN reports. The trial is closed and in the court hall neither journalists, nor representatives of the diplomatic corps are admitted. In particular, communicating with journalists, Ambassadors of the European Union countries who have arrived to the court, marked that the process has a political character. On the eve of the presidential elections this March the Chairman of the KGB of Belarus Peter Sukhorenko announced that the members of the organization "Partnership", detained by militia, had testified, that they had prepared explosions in the centre of Minsk at polling districts and poisoning of potable water. Besides, the KGB says that the representatives of "Partnership" had been trained in the territory of Georgia, in special camps by the Georgian and NATO instructors. This March the head of the Belarus state security service warned that any protesters who took to the streets during elections this Sunday could be charged with terrorism, and accused the opposition of plotting to seize power with foreign help.
