NEW DELHI, JULY 14: India has agreed to develop the IT and pharmaceuticals industries in Belarus besides offering a line of credit to enable BHEL to upgrade a thermal power station in Minsk.

India has also expressed interest in assembling Belarusian heavy duty dumpers here. On its part, Belarus has assured India of its support for the candidature of Shashi Tharoor for the post of UN Secretary General.

Belarus has also promised to work with India on major global issues including the G-4 resolution on UNSC. This was decided during the ongoing visit of the minister of state for industry Ashwani Kumar to that country.

Along with his counterpart Anatoly Rusetsky, Kumar also co-chaired the 3rd session of the Indo-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Trade, Industrial, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation at Minsk.
