Alexander Lukashenko: Belarus remains loyal to allied relations

Belarus, despite complications in the economic relations with Russia, remains loyal to the allied relations and the agreements signed, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced at a parade on the Independence Day today.

According to him, the country is ready to account for defending borders of the union state. At that Lukashenko stressed that deployment of the US anti-missile shield in the neighboring countries will seriously complicate the military situation near the borders. "One of basic foundations of the European security is undermined and practically idle, the CFE Treaty," the Belarusian president announced. "All this is happening under the silence from European democratic developed countries. One must not allow weakening security and defensive potential of Belarus and Russia."

The Belarusian leader promised that the country's Armed Forces will continue improving and developing, and the national security system will protect the republic's sovereignty and territorial integrity. "Under any conditions, the state will secure national and food safety," Lukashenko said. "Peace and stability will be maintained in the future. The Belarusian people, the winning nation, will spare no effort for it."
