Belarus' universal service tender fails to attract interest

A government tender for a contract to provide universal service provision in Belarus has failed after only one bid was received. According to online news portal e-belarus.org, the sole bidder, Belpoczta (Belarusian Post), applied to participate in the process which took place between 22 May and 25 June. The tender included two lots: 1), paid phones network in remote/rural areas; and 2), internet access for Public Internet Access Points (PIAPs). Belpoczta applied for the second lot.
