Venezuela govt boosting all-round cooperation with Belarus.

CARACAS, July 15 (Itar-Tass) - The Venezuelan government will take additional measures to boost further all-round cooperation with Belarus, said on Saturday Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicholas Maduro after his meeting with Belarussian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Semashko in the Venezuelan capital.

Maduro, Semashko and Secretary of State of the Belarussian Security Council Viktor Sheiman participated in the signing ceremony of eight bilateral agreements on the development of economic cooperation. The documents include a protocol of intent between the Petroleos de Venezuela state-owned oil and gas corporation and the Belorusneft production amalgamation on setting up a joint venture on conducting work to rehabilitate oil deposits.

The sides also plan to start implementing project on gasification of the Venezuelan territory, including the administrative centre of the Barinas State. The Belarussian side will participate in building social housing in Venezuela, construction of roads and other infrastructure projects.

The new agreements between Venezuela and Belarus point to a steady nature of relations between the two nations, based on common values and principles of solidarity, Maduro said. In turn, Semashko noted that "the foreign policy line of the two countries, opposing a one-polar world, coincide". He emphasised that the signed documents guarantee a success to the coming visit to Venezuela by Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, which will be made over the next few months.
