Bomb in Minsk Injured More Than 50 People

About 50 people were injured after the explosion of a bomb at an open air concert in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, according to the Belarusian Health Ministery officials report. The explosion took place during the Independence Day celebrations, on July 3. Doctors give no information about the condition of the injured; however, the police says there are no serious injuries.

"At present the scene has been cordoned off, and an investigation team is working at the scene," a local police source said. "The type of explosive device has yet to be established."

Similar occasions had happened in Vitebsk, another Belarusian city, in September 2005. 43 people had been injured, 3 of which seriously. The explosive device was put on the center of the dance floor.
