Belarus, Venezuela maintain strategic partnership

MINSK, July 5 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus and Venezuela maintain strategic partnership, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said in his greetings message to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Saturday.

In his greetings message devoted to Venezuela's Independence Day, Lukashenko said, "Belarus and Venezuela are actively interacting at the interstate level." "The format of strategic partnership helps resolutely and consistently defend national interests and counteract the policy of diktat in international affairs, coordinate joint approaches towards solving global problems."

The Belarussian leader noted the positive dynamics in carrying out projects in different fields and confirmed Belarus' drive for maintaining fruitful cooperation with Venezuela.

According to Venezuelan Ambassador in Minsk Americo Dias Nunes, Chavez may visit Belarus at the end of July. This will be the Venezuelan president's third visit to Minsk.
