Belarus factory for 10,000 tractors, 5,000 vehicles per year in Venezuela

Belarus BelTA: The construction of assembly facilities for 10,000 tractors and 5,000 vehicles a year has been launched in Venezuela, Belarus 1st vice-premier Vladimir Semashko said during a session of the Council of Ministers on 28 July.

"I have no doubts that the projects will be a success as they target the market of not only Venezuela but the entire developing market of the Mercosur countries," said Vladimir Semashko "this positive example should teach industrialists many things."

Semashko recalled that the industrialists were very lukewarm about the projects at first. "Now they have discovered this market for themselves. This year MTZ has sold 1,042 tractors to Venezuela. Negotiations on another 2,000 tractors are nearing completion," he added.

Vladimir Semashko is confident that the Belarusian products are highly competitive in the world markets in terms of price, technical specifications, reliability and service. "We should take more active efforts, and be fully committed to the obligations. We need to search for new financial resources to implement ambitious projects abroad," he stressed.

It is important for Industry Ministry companies to set up at least 32 assembling facilities abroad in 2009-2010, first of all, in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine as well as in China, India, Iran, Venezuela, Syria and other countries.
