Belarus ready to broaden joint business with Azerbaijan

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan received yesterday Byelorussian Prime Minister Sergey Sidorsky.

In the meeting President Aliyev stressed that their countries had common aspiration to develop ties, integrate and expand co-operation. Regarding creation of manufacturing joint ventures for a short period as good experience he emphasized the necessity of this experience applying in other areas as well.

Sidorsky conveyed President Alexander Lukashenko's greetings to his Azerbaijani counterpart. The PM emphasized that despite the global financial crisis and thanks to successful policy followed by two countries' leaders relationships between Azerbaijan and Belarus were developing and this policy created a good opportunity for further partnership widening.

On the same day Sidorsky was received by Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh of Azerbaijan. During the meeting the latter appraised both states' high actively developing links in political, economic and humanitarian areas.

Amid the global financial crisis Azerbaijani and Byelorussian economies managed to keep high rate of development. All that became possible due to successful economic policy of two countries' leaderships.

Rasizadeh pointed out that Azerbaijan was inclined for close co-operation with Belarus in diverse fields. Contacts in economic sector have given real results. In particular, assembling of Belarus tractors and other agricultural equipment has been launched at the Ganja Motor Works. The tractors will be exported to contiguous countries. Military and technical co-operation is under expansion as well.

The Byelorussian PM underlined that his country was interested in creation of joint ventures in the area of processing of farm products, manufacture of equipment facilities for road construction and in machine-building industry.

Besides, yesterday an agreement on twinning arrangements with Sumgait was signed in the Byelorussian city of Mogilev. The document on friendship and partnership was signed by deputy head of Sumgait Executive Power Akif Guliyev and first deputy of City Executive Committee Oleg Litenkov.
