Belaz to Invest 25M Yuan in Dump Trucks Production in China

The Belarusian Autoworks will invest 25 million Yuan (about .6 million) in the authorized capital of a Belarusian-Chinese joint venture to manufacture dump trucks in China. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Council of Ministers on 9 July 2009.

In line with the Investment Code of Belarus, the government affirmed the proposal of the Industry Ministry to invest 25 million Yuan in the dump trucks production that is being established in China.

The Belarusian Autoworks told BelTA that the production of BelAZ dump trucks is being set up jointly with the Chinese state-run CATIC Supply company. The dump trucks will be assembled from BelAZ machine sets.

Belarusian Autoworks was founded in the town of Zhodino in September 1948. The BelAZ product line includes open-pit dump trucks, front end wheel loaders and bulldozers, recovery trucks, carrier vehicles for underground works, heavy-load carriers for metallurgical plants and other production machines.

BelAZ employs about 10,000 people. Since its establishment the company has designed more than 500 modifications of dump trucks with the capacity from 27 tonnes up to 320 tonnes. BelAZ has produced more than 130,000 units of dump trucks, which operate in 70 countries throughout the world. BelAZ occupies one-third of the global market of dump trucks and is one of the top ten mining equipment producers in the world, such as Komatsu-Dresser, Euclid-Hitachi, Caterpillar, Liebherr, Terex, Kress.
