Belarus Sharply Cuts Crude and Oil Product Imports

Belarus cut its imports of Russian crude over January_May 2010 by 41.4 percent compared to the same period in 2009. the average price of crude imported from Russia was $394 per ton, a figure up 47.1 percent on January-May 2009, Belstat statistics show. Furthermore, Belarus imported 79,800 tons of Venezuelan crude in May at an average price of $656 per ton. In the first five months of the year, 326,900 tons of oil products were imported (including 292,900 tons imported from Russia), or 79.9 percent less than in the same period in 2009. The average price of these imports was $587 per ton, or 120 percent more than in January-May 2009.
