Belarus - President Alexander Lukashenko congratulates Mr Christian Wulff on his election as President of the Federative Republic of Germany

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Mr Christian Wulff on his election as President of the Federative Republic of Germany.

"I am convinced that the considerable experience in politics and state administration that you have accumulated while working as the head of one of Germany's biggest federal states, Lower Saxony, will become a key to successful and fruitful work for the good of the people of your country," the letter of congratulations runs.

"I am confident that our joint efforts will give an additional impetus to co-operation between Belarus and Germany, and the big potential for interaction will be fully realized," said the President of Belarus
