Belarus has ratified all agreements comprising a customs union with Russia and Kazakhstan, including a customs code. The announcement was made by President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on Saturday, when the republic marked its independence day.
The Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan customs union took effect on January 1, 2010. But de facto, the three countries cannot be viewed as a single customs zone until they all share a unified customs code.
