Belarus TV, a new Eastern European reference for SGT

The new Belarusian channel Belarus TV has been broadcasting on satellite using SGT products for traffic management, media management and transmission since August 1, 2005.

SGT handled the installation of its products in partnership with the Lithuanian company TVT, which was chosen as integrator of the new system. The architecture of the system is structured around two Omneon video servers.

Every phase of the operators' workflow has been taken into account, including creation of playlists, requests for ingest and digitization of programs, quality check, archiving, automatic restore and playout.

One of the strong points of this workflow is the integration of an archiving cart machine via SGT's DBOS Loader, which interfaces with the DIVA software by Front Porch Digital. DBOS Loader dynamically coordinates all file movements based on information from the playlists or supplied by the operators. In addition, it manages priorities and initiates transfers to and from the archiving cart machine. It also carries out delete operations to optimize the management of disk space on the video servers.

Broadcasters will be able to discover all of SGT's product lines through demonstrations of Traffic Management, Media Management and Transmission Management that will be offered on the SGT stand (nÝ9.440) at the IBC 2005 exhibition on September 9-13. SGT personnel will also be on hand to meet with broadcasters and discuss solutions for their specific workflows.
