Belarusian farmers milled the first million of grain from new crop

The million of grain from new harvest has been milled in the fields of Belarus, informed Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

About 11.400 combine harvesters work. Grains and legumes have been mowed down on 354.000 ha area (15% from forecast). The average yield totals 2.9 tonnes per hectare.

This year grains harvesting started 5-10 days later that usually because of hot weather. Lack of moisture caused yield reduction. According to the estimations of the Head of Ministry of Agriculture and Food in Belarus, Leonid Rusak, gross grain yield would total 7 mln tonnes in agricultural organizations of the Republic.

Last year grain harvest totaled more than 7 mln tonnes.
