Belarus makes request for equal rights to forming Customs Union, Lukashenko

SOCHI. August 16, 2006. KAZINFORM. /Dina Yermaganbetova/ Equal rights for all the states in creating Customs Union are the principal condition of Byelorussia, Byelorussian president Alexander Lukashenko told the joint press conference on the results of the informal meeting of EurAsEC leadership in Sochi.

As earlier reported, today Kazakhstan, Russia and Byelorussia have become signatories of the Agreement on formation of Customs Union.

If we join the Customs Union the country's economic entities should enjoy equal status. It is our main request, president Lukashenko has commented on his statement.

Byelorussian leader has also thanked for understanding of the country's position. Byelorussia will work at creating the Customs Unions and will never restrain EurAsEC integration processes, Lukashenko added.
