Belarus eager to boost ties with Iran

Belarusian deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Viktar Gaisenak, says Minsk is ready to develop economic and commercial relations with Tehran.

Gaisenak who heads a financial delegation met with Iran's deputy Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, in Tehran.

"The Belarusian government is determined to boost political and economic relations with Iran.

We are trying to remove all obstacles in the way of commercial deals with Iran," he said.

Gaisenak expressed hope that the volume of trade exchange with Iran would increase to an acceptable level

"We are eager to establish an Iranian bank in Belarus and ready to provide any necessary cooperation in this field," he said.

While some countries try to restrict Belarus' cooperation with Iran, Minsk will not bow to foreign pressure.
