VP calls for expansion of ties with Belarus

TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) -- First Vice President Parviz Davudi here on Sunday said that Iran was prepared for further expansion of economic relations with Belarus.

In a meeting with Belarusian Industry Minister Anatoliy Rusetskiy, Davudi pointed to the great economic potentials of the two countries and said, "Iran sees no limitations for further expansion of cooperation with Belarus especially in economic and industrial spheres."

He stated that the two countries could improve economic cooperation through holding joint exhibitions.

For his part, Rusetskiy expressed satisfaction over the two countries' friendly ties. "Minsk is seeking to increase relations with Tehran especially in economic areas."

He expressed his country's willingness for doing investments in the Islamic Republic especially in gas exploration projects.

He also said Minsk likes Iranian banks open branches in Belarus.
