Iran, Belarus sign cooperation deal

Iran and Belarus have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost bilateral trade, industrial and energy exchanges.

The agreement was signed by Iran's Commerce Minister Masoud Mir-Kazemi and Belarus Minister of Industry Anatoly Rusetsky in Tehran.

Speaking at the eighth meeting of Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Council which wrapped on Wednesday, Mir-Kazemi said the two sides reached numerous agreements to expand bilateral economic cooperation.

He added that Iranian and Belarusian entrepreneurs have also shown interest in investing in various sectors, especially oil, gas and auto manufacturing.

Tehran and Minsk have agreed to expedite execution of ongoing projects, worth close to USD 1b.
