Syria and Belarus to Establish Joint Industrial and Investment Projects

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Minister of Industry Fouad Issa al-Jouni discussed on Thursday with Belarus Deputy Minister of Trade Ivan Stepanenko and the accompanying delegation aspects of industrial cooperation and ways of developing them in the interest of the two friendly countries.

Both sides also conferred on the possibilities of cooperation in manufacturing machines, cars and tractors in addition to establishing joint investment and industrial projects.

Dr. al-Jouni stressed his ministry's care to establish joint projects and marketing their products , indicating to the possibility of utilizing the Belarus equipment in the cement and iron factories in Syria.

He called on all Belarus companies to present offers in the mentioned fields to manufacture spare parts for cement and iron factories as well as to develop cooperation in manufacturing cars , electronic and textile domains .

For his part, Stepanenko expressed his country's readiness to develop and boost industrial cooperation with Syria and share a new industrial and investment projects to contribute in strengthening and developing the economic ties between the two countries.

He called for visiting the Belarus pavilion at Damascus International fair in the New Fair Grounds to inspect the Belarus industrial products and explore the possibility of making use of these items by the Syrian companies.
