Belarus has no problems with selling agricultural goods-pres

LOGOISK, Minsk Region, August 30 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus now has no problems with selling its agricultural goods, said President Alexander Lukashenko.

"The situation for Belarussian agricultural producers is shaping up well. Money put into agriculture, yields good returns," he said on Sunday during his trip to the Minsk Region.

According to the president, "Belarussians have customers for their agricultural goods, apart from Russia", including Eastern Europe and CIS countries. Who could imagine that Ukraine will need our sugar and butter? People in Britain, Israel and Poland want to taste natural products we produce," Lukashenko continued. In the president's words, the main thing now is not to sell cheap.

He also noted that Belarus had completed the harvesting campaign and "the impression is satisfactory".

Minister of Agriculture and Food Semyon Shapiro reported the president that Belarus had substantially emptied stockpiles of agricultural goods. For instance stocks of dry milk dwindled down from 13,000 to 6,000 tonnes. "Russia requested around 15,000 tonnes for the fourth quarter alone," the minister added.

He also noted that Belarus garnered in more than four million tonnes of sugar beets this year.
