EU, UNDP and UNICEF project on the problem of human trafficking in Belarus has launched a website

The joint project of the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF) on the problem of human trafficking in Belarus now has its own website.

(I-Newswire) August 25, 2010 - The joint project of the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF) "Preventing, Fighting and Addressing the Social Consequences of Trafficking in Human Beings in the Republic of Belarus" was launched in January 2009. Now it has its own website on the Internet available at http://www.trafik.by/en/.

The website contains detailed information on the project goals and objectives, major activities, participating in partner organizations and results of work. It also contains some background information on human trafficking: international and national legislation in this area, activities taken in Belarus to fight the problem, etc.

A regularly updated Press Center section is filled with actual information about current activities of the project. It also has some news reports from local and foreign sources covering relevant projects in the field of preventing human trafficking in Belarus and in the world.

The website is available in English and in Russian. The Russian version has a document with recommendations for Belarusian journalists covering the trafficking problem in media and a section with materials on human trafficking to download.

In the nearest future there will be a special section for youth with information on safe travel abroad.
