Belarus, Syria come together for 27 joint projects

As per the Chief Consultant for global relations of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Andrei Velichkovsky, Belarusian and Syrian businessmen are planning to put in to effect 27 joint projects.

On July 27, Minsk was host to the second session of the Belarusian-Syrian Business Cooperation Council and business matchmaking session. More than 100 businessmen from Syria and 77 delegates of firms and organisation from Belarus attended the sessions. Either parties or sides reached 27 ways of cooperation.

While Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno will introduce synthetic fibre exports to Syria, a range of other Belarusian firms will follow the same, such as Akrilik, manufacturer of synthetic fibres.

In return, Belarus is intending to purchase cotton from Syria for the Baranovichi production cotton association. Along with cotton, it will also import canned vegetables and beans, olive oil and bedding.
