According to farm and food ministry of Belarus, as of September 22 this year, winter crops were sown on 1.1 million hectares, which is 80 percent of the planned area. Winter grains have been sown on 957,300 hectares, which is 83 percent of what is planned. This includes 205,000 hectares of winter wheat (82 percent) and 360,000 hectares of triticale (90.1 percent).
Winter grains area is said to be increased 10 percent from last year's level. The planting works are to be completed by October 1, officials said.
