Cooperation In Culture Most Inportant Part Of Armenian-Belarusian Relations

YEREVAN, September 30. /ARKA/. Cooperation in culture is the most important part of the Armenian-Belarusian relations and becomes more and more important over last years, Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Marina Dolgopolova said in interview with BELTA News Agency. She said that these relations are based on the mutual interest of our people toward culture of each others, as well as the wish to restore general humanitarian space formerly existed. She reported that cultural relations between Armenia and Belarus have significantly developed over last years. She said that celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of birthday of Aram Khachaturyan, as well as exhibition of paintings of Martiros Saryan were held in Minsk. It is expected that the exhibition "Treasury of Echmiadzin" will be opened in Belarus soon. Another exhibition "Heritage of Belarus" was opened in Yerevan, presenting over 200 works of artists of Belarus.

Dolgopolova also reported that Yerevan Stanislavski Theater and the Yerevan Puppet Theater traditionally participate in a theater festival organized annually in Brest.

In 2004 Days of Belarusian Television were organized in Armenia by the Public Television and Radio Company of Armenia, and Days of Armenian Television have been organized in Belarus. International Music Festivals "Slavyanski Bazar in Vitebsk - 2004" and "Slavyanski Bazar - 2005" were translated in Armenia.

Dolpolova reported that relevant agreement on cooperation in culture has been signed in 2003 by the Ministries of Culture of Armenia and Belarus, and the certain program of events for 0205-2007 was adopted in 2004.

Days of Belarusian Culture will be held in Armenia from September 29 to October 3, 2005. A.A. -0--
